Note the logo of the short-lived "Davidson County Private Fire Dept. Association". Keep in mind that the private fire departments were created in response to the period of Nashville's history when there was great growth outside the old city limits but still within Davidson County before the creation of Nashville Metropolitan Government. Even after Nashville went Metro, the coulny was divided by the Urban Services District (the old city limits) and the General Services district which did not have municipal fire protection until 1975.
The Brentwood Fire Dept. existed until 1986 when the City of Brentwood created its municipal department.
