The Great Nashville Train Wreck
My mother related the story to me as told by her father
who was an NC&StL railroad foreman. His name was Grover C. Bramlett. Most
of his crew called him "Cap'n" He was present in this
picture, but I have yet to pick him out. It was a horrible tragedy
and he worked hours helping to rescue people at the scene. My mother
was just 2 at the time this happened, but she recalled her father speaking
about the wreck many times. I almost can feel the horrible feeling
he must have had. Unfortunately, my grandfather died when I was 5 so
I never got to hear the story first hand. Click Here for the full story from a 1998 Tennessean Article |
